The importance of knowing your customer is what I call customer centric marketing. If you’re a small business owner or your responsibility is marketing for a small business, customer centric marketing is a tactical tool you should use.
I started using it early on in my career when I was asked to take a sales position because I had a degree. Go figure. I used this opportunity to my advantage. What I learned firsthand set the foundation for many marketing and sales opportunities to date.
Customer centric marketing can help you build a sound marketing communications tactical plan with the appropriate communication channels based on your customer needs. With the popularity of social media and even traditional marketing, you’ll need all of your marketing communications pulling in the same direction.
